Annotated_Site Plan_Southern_Saw.pdf
Habitat owns several acres in western Sylvan Hills, between Evans Drive and Langston Ave. This block used to contain the Southern Saw factory, neighborhood retail buildings, places of worship, and single-family and duplex homes.
Site provided housing, jobs, and community space; industrial uses were tied to active railroad use; site developed incrementally over time
This site was demolished, cleared, & Habitat for Humanity acquired it for redevelopment
This site has great transit access and currently serves a variety of recreational needs for the community
Habitat wants to rezone the property in order to develop 64 affordable, for-sale homes and some community greenspace. As a neighborhood, we have the ability to provide feedback to Habitat and the Zoning Review Board in order to shape this project.
